Bauer vs IPC

Conclusion:

I am going to publish my magazine with Bauer as I believe that their experience in this field and their ability to reach wider markets and them all round approach to music magazines will best suit the pursuits of my magazine. As Bauer has a good handle on Europe and has connections to America I believe that they can help me expand better I am looking at it in the long run as my magazine will move into globalization soon what they have done with mojo gives me grist hope for what I can achieve with mine under their leadership

What I learnt:

From this I learnt how publishing companies provide support for their brands and what qualities are important to different companies and how certain goals may change your approach and view to certain companies also I learnt that using  www.bubbl.us is a really good way of laying information out in front of you so it is more bite size and easier to use

This is the  double page spread of 'We Love Pop' and in this presentation me and my group have assessed the double page spread of the magazine seeing how it uses Tabloid gossip such as celebrity news and private images of the celebrities, these are all used to catch the attention of the reader and make it more enjoyable for the reader.

This is the contents page analysis of 'We Love Pop' we covered a new type of template for prezi one which utilised many new zooming techniques and colour schemes. We covered how magazines do certain things to make their magazine more attractive even once the front cover has attracted the customer for example the use of Nathan and Nialls, this attracts more people into the magazine as most people who picked it up did so because of their faces

This was my first use of prezi and we covered the change of focus, zooming in and out and how to highlight certain area. We saw how certain areas of magazines were made to be bolder so they can attract certain people for example Miley Cyrus is in the third of the magazine and she is enjoying herself this will attract Miley fans to the magazine

We Love Pop

I and my group worked on the magazine we love pop. this was my first opportunity to see how a magazine uses its front cover layout to attract its particular target market in this case we see a variety of things and with my Prezi's me and my group cover them we also look at the double page spread and its context page we evaluates the effectiveness and layout of these sections but differently to the front cover.

From this I learnt colour balancing and I am now familiar enough with the magic wand tool and the lasso tool to use them in many projects

Preliminary Task Draft

In this task i was asked to use paint to draft my magazine cover for a school. From this task i learn how to efficiently plan out a magazine and visualize my goals in a way that is manageable, i also i realized the importance of the third in a magazine

Nature Magazine

From this Nature Magazine creation i was able to grasp methods such as layering images and writing text in pictures. I was able to use the third productively and change the size of  font i used lasso and cut in order to slice the tree to perfect size in my eyes it was a good and positive exercise i enjoyed giving life to this picture

The Brief

Preliminary exercise:

Produce the front page of a school/college magazine featuring photograph of a student in a medium close up shot and some appropriately laid out text and mast head. Additionally candidates must produce a mock up layout of the contents page to demonstrate their grasp of the program.
